There is textbook parenting and there is real parenting. I prefer the kind that allows the kids to be kids. They need it. For a fun visual of how that happens, look at today's post in pictures. My daughter went from a ...Thank you for this post. My daughter went from a A1C of 6 (honeymoon phase to thank) to a 7 and although I wasn't upset persay, I was miffed. As a parent sometimes I lose track of the fact that an A1C is just a guideline to help us along the way. You are right about child first, diabetes second. I laughed out loud about the Costco taste testing because I let my daughter do it too and just tell myself that I'll correct her with her next meal if I need to. We are just about a year into this and I feel proud that life has gone on around our house and we still do all the same things we used to do, we just have an extra bag to carry around and a few more things on the back of my mind.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
