Fresh Food Friday (Free and Low Carb Snack Ideas)

Went through some of my oldies but goodies on the computer.

Here is a list of free, and almost free, snack ideas.


Almonds with seasonings like bbq or ranch or cocoa powder
Sunflower Seeds
Sunflower with seasonings like bbq or ranch or cocoa powder
Peanuts – stay away from honey roasted/dry roasted is better
Peanut butter
Sun nut butter
Soy butter
Almond butter
Cheddar cheese
String cheese

Ricotta Cheese mixed with splenda and lemon extract
Pepper Jack

Salads - many variations but keep in fridge ready to go
Ranch dressing
Red peppers and green peppers
Cottage cheese

Cottage cheese with a bit of sugar free jello mixed in for a dessert
Cauliflower with cheese
Cauliflower with ranch
Mashed Cauliflower to substitute for mashed potatoes
Broccoli with melted cheese
Salad with free veggies and low-carb dressing
Tomato and mozzarella salad
Celery with peanut butter

Celery with cream cheese
Fresh berries with low-fat plain yogurt
Strawberries (and fresh other berries) with cool whip
Veggies with hummus

Lettuce wraps – Asian chicken, soy sauce wrapped in lettuce
Cucumbers with olive-oil and rice vinegar

Cucumbers with onions and white vinegar - soak overnight
Carrot sticks

Carrot slices
Carrots on the stalk for a fun change
Sugar snap peas - raw

Snap peas with Caesar dressing
Radishes with tzatziki
Green beans cooked and cooled with lemon juice

Deli meat – Salami or pepperoni is great!

Baked or broiled fish – serve with lemon and side salad for a low carb meal

Egg bakes – mini muffin pan scrambled egg and bacon bits.  Bake until done, serve.

Cool Whip  - serve with jello for a good treat
Plain, unsweetened yogurt mixed with Splenda and cocoa powder

Tea or coffee unsweet or sugar free substitute
Soda Stream – diet or natural flavors
Shaved ice with Crystal light

Crystal light –make homemade popsicles
Cow's milk unshake with vanilla extract, sugar substitute (can substitute soy or almond)
