It Always Happens When You Are Tired

Ever noticed the type 1 diabetes phenomenon of having things go wrong right when you are at your weakest?

It's like it waits to pounce just as it notices your tired.  Or sick.  Or beyond frustrated.

Last night was a little bit like that.

Sensor Fail error.

Followed by a new sensor insertion and waiting two hours.

Sensor Fail error, again.

Followed by a new sensor insertion that went incredibly wrong, causing the wire to dislodge and the plastic long arm component to be stuck in the inserter.  At 2:00 a.m..

Yes, 2:00 a.m..

Poor choice on my part but wanting to make sure that a certain birthday girl could celebrate as carefree as possible with a working CGM.

As I drink my morning survival coffee, I reflect.

More than a Sensor Fail error.

A Mom Fail error.

Oh I'm sorry… What a night! I see a mom who is trying hard to get things just right for a birthday girl. The love behind that is the best gift of all. Hope the day improves. Thank goodness for coffee!

Oh mama it's never a fail when you try and do what is best for your babies. ((Hugs)) I hope that your day is going better

It doesn't sound like a mom fail, but a diabetes technology problem - we all have those from time to time. :)

Thanks for the support and kindness. Back on the horse tonight with TWO successful days of 530g sensors!!!

Yeah! From others who have tried the 530 Enlite, I think the sensor is more difficult than Dexcom. :( But one device to look at is maybe worth it?
