It's Like Finding a Needle in a Haystack, Except It's Not.

In our house, these are everywhere

We find them in our beds, mixed into the sheets and blankets.

They travel into the laundry and sometimes, into the lint vent.

I have discovered them at the bottom of our shower or under the sink.

Some follow us outside and sink into our car mats.

Once, we found one in the parking of a Target, except that one wasn't our brand.

It has become a game to us.  Kinda like finding a needle in a haystack, except it's not.
What it really is?

It is the proof of having two kids test blood sugars about 16-20 per day, every single day for the past 8 years, leading roughly to 46,720+ painful needle pokes on tiny, child-sized fingers, in order to know if they are managing blood sugar and properly doing their life-saving insulin.

Yes, we really need a cure.

I wrote a post recently posting pictures of some odd places I've found used test strips. I need to work harder on determining the difference between our strips, if there is to the ordinary eye. I use FreeStyle InsuLinx and my two daughters use FreeStyle Lite (different meters though). It was fun at a diabetes events to get different skins for both of their meters. :)
